Default prarie 650 tipps scales at 720 pounds

Polaris, Bomb and AC quads are all really heavy quads. My 500i is 728 lbs wet, thats totally stock. Now I have 26" outlaws mounted on steel rim, winch installed and a rear box. I'm sure my quad weights about 875 lbs without me on it with all my accesories. Thats incredibely heavy! Then you add a rider and if your mudding the extra mud your carrying. Its about half a ton in the end when its all said and done. Your praire guys are very lucky to have such a light weight quad. I would hate to see what a P700 weights with it all decked out!

MuddHound; Sorry but water is approximately 8# per gallon and gas is figured at 6#. If gas weighed 8# per, We'd have to leave off one passenger every time we took the Cessna up with full tanks.

The 700 wet weight is 786lbs, and the weight of your quad is 720lbs. But most of the stuff you added to your 650, the 700 comes stock with it. Such as rack ext, hitch and good tires. Now if I were to put your 26" mudrunners on Douglas rims, the 700 would actually loose weight. The stock Rawhides on steel rims weigh 146lbs, your Mudrunners weigh 144lbs. So the weight of the 700 would be 784lbs. (However the weight weight of the 700 is a full tank of gas, plus it has a bigger radiator). Then you add your front box and 2" ball, the 700 would be 791lbs. Thats only 71lbs more. So you can see dry weight doesn't mean crap. So when you take off your potato skin tires and put on the things the 700 comes stock with, the weight are a lot closer then people realise. The only down fall is, the Kawi, Grizz and Honda will feel the power loss much more then the 700, because so much more weight is being added. See that's the problem with many who have the 650 or the others, they think they can add all the goodies but still think the 700 is still 140lbs heavier, but in fact it's half that. Thanks ROPADOPA for giving us the weight, this helps prove what I have been saying for awhile.

now now we all now how good polaris machines are but if i wanted an american machine i hope it would say chevy, ford or maybee even dodge on it . even polaris knows better and puts some fuji developed motors in their machines.I still like em all but was over all shocked at the true weight of my 650 did you weigh yours with the winch and all the good stuff that polaris comes with?I thought the goodyears that came stock on the polaris looked better then my dunlops that came on the 650 but im really not feelin it. And since were getting a little technical on pounds may as well bring the fact that im running 27'' tires not 26".

in the end i guess size (weight does matter)

And once again im not rying to start a debate in wich is better but i have over 5000 miles in my one year old machine and i think what does matter is that your out there using it as much as possible.

I don't dog anyone's atv they have, I think there all great and each atv out there will fit different people in different way's. I think the 650 is a great quad, but I have very little smooth trails where I can open it up, that's why I picked the SP. But when people say Polaris is a tank at 740lbs then they go out and get there lighter atv, then they add what Polaris comes stock with, then they still say that the 700 still weighs 140lbs more then them. Thinking there atv didn't gain much weight with all the goodies. But with you weighing your quad with allmost everything the 700 has, the gap was cut in half. (I meant to right 27"Munrunners not 26", the 27" weigh 144lbs). So what I'm saying is, unless you will alway's keep your quad stock, dry weight don't mean squat. Atv's that are set up simular, they will be close in weight and performence.

Dangerous, sorry I missfigured that, I was making my estimate based on the weight of water, so we'll just subtract that 11.25 lbs of error back off leaving me with approximately 1090 lbs of rolling weight.

I got my prairie down to 579 pounds with a full tank of gas. Even though I have a pile of prairie parts in the corner of my garage that sits higher than my prairie LOL. I could probably shave another 20 off. Just for that extra ease of getting it unstuck this winter. Even though i may put the rear rack back on for hauling gas and hot chocolate on the long trails rides we take in the winter.

Being that the wet weight of the 650 is 662lbs and you added new tires and rims(looking at your sig). What did you take off it for it to loose over 80-90lbs. Not saying you didn't do it, just curious what you could have taken off.
