prarie 650 tipps scales at 720 pounds
was at the local drags (cars not quads) and decided to put my 650 on the scale first he said 730 pounds and i said wow then i took a few items out of my front kawi box (tow roap, boots, ect) it dropped 10 pounds, now in no way am i sad i really like my prarie and every thing its done for me but wow. I know dry weight is 604 so i did some quck adding tyriing to figure out how i gained over a 100 pounds.
Kawi rack extenders maybe 5 each == 10 pounds
front kawi box 5 pounds
27 in mudrunners on douglas wheels
weighed them when new fronts
were 6 pounds heavier and the rears
were 14 pounds hevier 40 pounds
trailer hitch and 2'' ball maybe 10 10 pounds
dont forget fluids crankcase and
final drives lets just say a gallon 10 pounds
radiator say a gallon 7 pounds
did i forget sommthing i always new i was tossing a large machine trough the trails but 700 pounds wow can you imagine what the other big quads must really weigh ??

ROPADOPA, you didn't include gas at approzimately 8.5 lb/gal for 4.5 gal giving you 38.25 lbs nor did you consider mud trapped in the skid plates and other hidden locations (tank guard). The way I figure it my quad is closing in on 1,100 lbs with me and my junk on it.

the scale was very acurate they have some strict rules when it comes to the fastest street car nationals and i took a peek it looked a little old but had a large balance beam and seemed to be up to par . has anyone else weighed there 650 ???The rims are aluminum and i had less than a 1/2 tank of gas showing on the guage. no winch.
just watch out on the trail there could be some 1000 pound,50mph heavyweight quads comin your way.....

Yep those quad weights are high. then someone sets a 200+ lb porker on it. Im surprised everytime i go out with mine, it glides over muskeg, mud, hills, snow. just amazing. Some times a close neighbour (5 miles down the road) goes out with us, he has a 500 Ho pole. he tries to avoid all mudholes etc. i dont knew how much it weighs but he says its heavey. I knew the stock tires cut into the muskeg real bad.
