Default Mojave: Rev limiter?

What does it feel like when you hit the rev limiter? I don't believe I have ever hit it so I'm wondering how far you have to rev it out before it kicks in? My Mo has the 13 tooth front sprocket so that may have something to do with it.

I really like my FMF exhuast...It's sounds awesome on the Mojave....It comes with a quite core that can make it quite a bit quiter than stock...good for trail riding...Although i keep mine wide open...Very loud!!!! Kind of sounds a Harley should! I've never tried changing the jets I don't think it's too hard though...just about anybody should be able to do it.

i have a mojave (all stock) and when i hit the rev limiter. oil shoots out in the bonet, and its not a pleasent sound, back fires flames a foot long, lol.. very sad to see, in fact it was so back i had to let it sit for a couple of days, it kicks in at 8600 rpms.. at first it dont shoot oil in the bonet but i wasnt aware of this and i kept it wide open, fortunately i didnt blow the engine! see ya

When you hit the rev limiter it pops and misses. It's there so you don't blow. I put a KLR rev box on mine to eliminate the rev limit with a 12 tooth stock sprocket and stock valve springs. Ran it wide open too long and sucked a valve. Frequent valve adjustments are very crucial...

Rejetting is just time consuming. Plastic off, carb off with cables attached, float bowl off, unscrew main jet, screw in new jet, replace float bowl and hope it works. Try www.thunderproducts.com for dial-a-jet. Much more convenient.
