Default Mojave leaking fuel??? (HELP!)

Well, I was working on my Mojave this weekend, just tightening everything up. I never touched the carb. I worked around it, and just made the connections to the carb from the air box and the engine a bit tighter. Now, after I shut it down, fuel will start spilling out of the fuel overflow line! I'll shut the gas off, but all the fuel from the cut off to the end of the fuel overflow, will keep running until dry!

The Mojave is either a 92, or a 90 (I was told it was a 92, but a little tag on the frame by the gas tank says: "Made in Japan - 1990", so I think it's a 90)

Thanks for any help!

Must have gotten a piece of dirt under the needle. Try tapping on the carb with the gas turned on, if that doesn't work you'll have to take the carb off.

OK, now, after I turn the fule on, and tap it some, if that doesn't work, and I take the carb off, what then?? I'm a newbie when it comes to ATV stuff. Will I have to rebuild the carb? Disassemble it and clean everything? Thanks for the help so far!

You will have to remove the bowl from the carb (once the carb is off the machine), should be held on with 4 screws. Once the bowl is off check the float to make sure it moves freely. If it does, hold the carb level, gently push up on the float until it's at the top of it's travel. With a piece of fuel line on the carb fuel intake, blow through the line. If you feel air blowing through the line and into the carburator, the needle valve is bypassing due to dirt or wear. Take the float off to remove the needle and try cleaning the needle seat with compressed air or carb cleaner. If it still leaks by after that replace the needle and seat.
