The fact that your settings in florida are different doesn't surprise me. The warmer the leaner it should be. They do make changes at the factory depeding on where the bike ships to sell.

Sgt. Rock,
The tiny tach is made by Design Technology. Model 2C works on our machines. It's listed in the Kawasaki accessories catalog too. See who will give you the best deal. Tiny Tach
It's so easy to install - one wire to ground and one wire gets wrapped around a plug wire.
Here's another thread with relevent information:

Guy's I've found the easiest way to set the air screw's, since we all live in diff places, temp, elevation, humidity, etc. don't count the number of turn's, as all bikes are different as well as where we live, warm the quad up until the fan comes on at least once to assure it is up to operating temp, then with the quad in neutral and at an idle, start with either carb, turn the air screw counterclockwise slowly until the motor idle's down(rough) turn the opposite way just until it idle's back up(smooth) then stop, do go any further, repeat the other carb the same way and your set. the carb's idle mixture is then set for your temp and location, minor adjustment's may need to be made from winter to summer but this whole process takes only a few minute's, I did this to mine and no more cough or hesitation whatsoever.........
