If only choosing tires were as easy as......
If only choosing tires were as easy as choosing the P650! I have narrowed the list to 3 kinds of tires. The Holeshot ATR's, The Bighorns, or the new Mudlight. I am leaning towards the Holeshot's, but I am worried that the soft side wall with have the same problems as the Dunlops, when in a hard turn. I don't have the new front spring kit yet, and maybe that will be the only way to fix the problem?
So I ask for your thoughts, here is what I'm looking for:
* I need first and foremost a light and long lasting tire.
* Second I ride rock, gravel, hardpack, and more hardpack.
* I very rarely find mud here in Utah. When I do find it, I ride in it. Maybe a total of 100 miles out of the 1900 I that I have rode, not much. (besides I've got 4wd and a locker, I can live without the mud tire)
* I ride with my brother inlaw, who has a Raptor, and I need a tire that can corner well, this is where he
kicks my @ss. I won't go into the fact that he is now look to buy a P650 and sell the Raptor.
* Oh ya, did I mention that I'm poor, so I need a tire that can last. I'm willing to pay more now so I don't have to
buy again next month.
* I also ride some in the snow, pull the kids on the sled.
Well that is it, let me have it!

I can't say enough about the ATR's. I have owned 589's which were good in the mud but sucked everywhere else. I almost goy killed climbing a hill with them. I rolled over and bent my steering shaft and broke a brake lever. Now I have the ATR's. First they're radials which are far better than any bias tire. They ride awesome handle awesome. I hated the way the 650 dipped in the front end when cornering. I have no such problem now. I was flying down a power line kinda sandy hardpack I flew into a corner turned the quad and hit the gas it power slid thru the corner like my 250r 3 wheeler used to do. slinging dirt everywhere. Get the ATR's you won't be sorry you bought them. They seem to be the same price everywhere on line. I bought mine at www.4atvtires.com. Thye also don't seem to bad in mud even though I do most of my riding in similar conditions as you. Good luck.

Hey Freak.... I'm a fellow Utahn so I know the terrain you ride. I had the same dilema and I finally settled on the Goodyear Rawhides Grips. They are a great all around tire. They have a pretty aggressive tread and are an inch wider in the back (won't rub against gas tank) they are actually a little taller tire than stock and I have found no loss of power... they hook up much quicker. They ride real nice and there is no "tractoring" . They are a thick 3 ply and can withstand almost anything. Thay look great on the p650 as well......

YoSeaOh, some questions about the ITP Holeshot ATRs---
Are they the same actual size as the stock Dunlops (you don't lose any ground clearance, do you)?
Do you think they will last better than Bearclaws etc.?
Can the sidewalls handle abuse from sharp rocks etc.?
How much heavier than the stock Dunlops are they?
Hopefully You've had these tires long enough to get an idea of how they compare to the competition. If you have time to reply, I'd appreciate it.
