Default Tecate 4 vs. the banshees

That is the only 2 strokes that i had to play with. I installed a set of v-force reeds, clamp on K a N and jetted up 2 sizes. I did not even have time to verify the jetting. I was impressed!!! I out ran many piped/jetted/k a n banshees all week end. I came out of the hole strong. I won more than i lost. The banshee with cpi in frame , boost bottle/ larger carbs/v force reeds and new super light pistons beat me by 3 1/2 to 4 lenghts on the average in 660 feet. There is room for improvement , but overall did well.

It put over a 100 feet on piped
/jetted warrior

about 85 feet on 400exs in 660 feet

about 60 feet on z 400's

There are some slow 4 strokes out there.

for those of you looking for the ultimate tecate 4 motor, you need to get intouch with me.you name it i can build your tecate to suit your needs. everything from 265 big bore kits all the way up to 330 longrod motors.
the tecate motor can even go bigger then 330 but i don't recommend it.
a well built 265 big bore tecate can and will smoke just about everything out there.banshees should not be a problem, for even mildly modified tecates

Default Tecate 4 vs. the banshees

My friend and frequent riding partner has a Banshee w/ some mods and my Tecate 4, rebuilt by killerkx, made him lose his "I got the baddest quad around" attitude pretty fast. When he got it, he offered us 250 riders a ride on his quad thinking we'd be impressed. That ended from day 1. In fact, none of the 250s will get smoked by a shee unless the shee is modded for all top end and you run them on a long, long straight where the extra cc's will matter.

But hey, my friends and I mainly ride in woods, fields and column dumps...not in drag races. And in those regular riding situations, any advantage the banshee may have vanishes. They have no grunt to them, they're heavy and don't handle as well as the 250s.

Reality does the myth no justice. oh well, too bad.
