pcpacker: I've got the front carb at 132 and the rear at 138. Seems to work pretty good up to about 10,000. When I go camping at 9000 for a few days I put a 135 in the rear.

vance650: I should of got the ATR's a long time ago! They hookup, handle and do good in the snow and mud. Besides they look really good on the 650.

Freak- There good in the snow? Think you could plow with them. I want to get a set but i'm not sure if i should order the mudlites now for the snow and then order the ATR's in the spring.

praireguy: Don't know how to answer you. I don't have a plow, and the deepest snow that I have had them in was about 6". I was riding with a guy that had 489's and I personally beleive that the ATR's were a lot better. I went every where I wanted to and one place that my buddy couldn't. (Lockers sure do help). I think that the ATR's will do the job just as good and anything else. For my kind of riding NORTHING can beat the ATR's. At least nothing that I have ever riden on! (That includes, Dunlops, 489's, 589's, and Rawhides). I'm sure that there are better snow and mud tires out there, however lets see them stay with me in the DIRT!
As for the mud, I'm yet to get them in the really sticky clay, that we have around here. In the normal mud that I have been in they clean out really well. The thing that you've got to remember is that I rid in Utah and there is not much mud here. I ride on hardpack, mountain dirt, gravel, rock and sand. (don't forget and occassional sage brush).
My concern with the ATR's is the one thing that no one can answer yet, HOW LONG WITH THEY LAST?

LOL how long they last depends on how hard you ride. I have a question, I been taking polls on this tire and was wondering if you could measure the height for me and also list the psi with that height. Can you estimate how much heavier they are than stock tires?

Thanks
Tim

Kiss: I get that for you tommorow. I don't remember the exact height. I do remember that the fronts were the exact same height as my old stockers and the rears were 1/2" shorter. both with 5psi. As far as weight the fronts are 19lbs and the rears are I think 23lbs. sightly heavier then the stockers mounted on the rims. They don't feel heavy when riding though.

Freak,

sorry about all of the questions we are asking, but I have another one. My dealer put in 130 front and 135 rear. It doesn't feel underpowered, but that could be because I have never been on yours. Have you tried this combination? What would you recommend? My 50 mph run was at bear lake, but it was also on sand and I am sure that I would get a better speed on hard pack. Thanks for your time.

Kiss: with 4psi in front and back it is about 23.5" front and 24" back.

pcpacker: sand will slow you down, try a run on hardpack. Also I'm no expert but with a K&N and at 6000 feet I would think you would be lean. My filter is stock. And most of my riding is between 5500 and 7000. My run at 62 on radar was at 5320 on a gravel road in 4wd, with stock tires, and black spring. I had to run in 4wd because the rear wheels would slip to much in 2wd and I could only get 60. I haven't made a run with the ATR's yet, but I don't believe that I will lose any speed. By the way the speedo said 64mph. If you know how to change out the jets just try it. Also how do your plugs look?

I was just looking at Nyroc's website and nobody has jetting sizes as low as mine. I know that most of these people have a lot of mods, but I am nervous about the jetting that my dealer did. The only problem is, I know absolutely nothing about carburators/engines etc (I can change fluids and that is about it). Can I trust my dealer to diagnose if I am lean, and make the correct adjustment? I am not sure about these dealers sometimes.

5000 feet. K&N Filter 130 front 135 rear

I think your lean! I can walk you through the jet change it you want. It is really not hard to do. Just unscrew the 4 screws on the bottem of the carb. Take the bowl off and the jet is right there. (get the jets from the dealer so you know what your looking for.) Unscrew the jet and put the new one in. NOT HARD. If you don't want to do this take the bike to the dealer and have them jet it 132f 138r (just like the manual states for 5000ft). You might even be able to run a 135 in the front with the K&N. I have a stock filter so not sure about this one. I do know that the K&N lets more air in so you should have richer jets then me. Let me know.
