Bone stock w/winch and 62mph. Not much air up where I am either. It does take some road to finally hit top speed, but high 50's quickly even uphill. Check your speed w/a GPS, maybe your speedo is off. Also do some plug readings or hook up an A/F meter to see if you're carbed right. When I first bought mine I was having some staring/stalling issues. The shop decide I was running rich and leaned me out. It was gutless and I lost 10mph so I had them switch it back. I think I'm still a little lean as I get backfires through the carbs if I pull the airbox lid to get some extra air in. Anyway, the Kawi elevation chart is usually lean for emissions to start with.

I am 6'4 and 320 and I have had mine up to 64MPH. It was a long straight away but I also ran out of room. She had some more left. My prairie has had nothing to the clutch or engine.

Guy's no two bikes run the same AND I don't think any two speedometer's are the same, get someone with another 650 and run them at a certain speed and compare speedometer's, you may be going faster than you are showing, mine top's out higher than most but lower than some, when it was bone stock it would do 62mph, I added the HMF, dyno-jet, and airfilter and it went to 66 mph, I later put the EPI red/black clutch spring's in and top speed is now is 64-65 mph.......
