rincon power vs 650 power
#3
the recon might have 16hp.
Automotive transmissions wastes a lot of horsepower. They can't provide the equicvalent performance as a cvt. Therefore the 650 honda rincon motor has to make more ponies than that to be as quick as it is.
I rode one. The Rincon is very snappy. I thought it was quicker than a grizzly. A rincon with stock tires feels about as quick as a 650 with 26" 589's or 26" mudrunners to me. I am not thinkin about trading my 650 for one, but i liked it overall a lot more than the griz or a slowlaris.

I don't know what the Rincon is good at it only has a 3spd tranny. You have no access to low gears, can't plow. It's constantly searching for the correct gear while climbing a slight incline, It's definatly not faster, quicker.

Saw a race between a Rincon and a Prairie at the local dealer, two salesmen were racing to settle a bet. Needless to say, at the end of the race (about 100 yards or so) the Prairie was ahead by about 3 lengths. the Rincon guy lost his bet.

Check out the December issue of Dirtwheels. They have a shootout between the Prairie, Grizzly, and the Rincon. There is a picture of all three quads in a drag race. Guess who's in front? Nuff said.

how can some people say a rincon can beat a 650 in a drag if the rincon only has 16HP at the rear wheel.
16HP??????? That can't be right. A 650 only putting out 16 at the wheels, thats as much as my trailblazer.

ya its pretty sad. but i dont know if i'd blame it on the engin so much as the tranny. i think it all depends on what you like. the rincon is for a more laid back trail rider who plans on doing nothing more then just that, where as the p650 was made for those of us who can tame 30 ponies and look good doing it ps:cueball89 eats my dust

My bother in law has a Rincon. We have drag raced many many times. Short 50,75 yds and long 1 mile "for top speed check". I can holeshot him every single time and keep pulling away every single time. I am 100% sure my brother in laws Rincon is not as quick or fast as my P650. Also, a guy in here called Muddhound from Grundy VA raced his P650 too. He has 26" dirt devil tires, warn winch, cycle country mount and a hard storage box on front full of things. HE also beat the Rincon at the end of the race. He couldnt pull out as fast but ALWAYS did catch him around 30 yds. We all 3 raced together several times so based on that observation I would say the P650 is quicker and faster across the board than the Rincon is.
