Also, keep in mind that the hitch only costs about 50 bucks so dont let that be a big factor in your pricing. Its also very very easy to put on. Probley take you 10 minutes.

I've read nyroc's website and must admit, its still a bit intimidating. Maybe because i'm not looking at the atv, and also probably because i'm not the most super mechanical guy in the world. Once i'm shown something it's easy, just don't have much experience. Anyway, i'm going to concentrate now on getting my prairie, then cross this bridge at a later date. How bad/damaging is it to run with the stock spring? I know i'll want to switch to the black one asap...

I was talking to a dealer in MS, seems they have good prices up there actually, HA, don't be surprised if I email you about that ride and install andy! ;-) Who knows. The local dealer here doesn't seem to want to deal much off retail. Oh well there are plenty more dealers to talk to .

Come on up

The spring definetly help the belt last longer but the biggest issue is the belt adjustment.
They come set to the loose end of spec from the factory and that causes the belt to wear pretty fast.
Just as an FYI,my belt wasnt even in the factory range, It was looser.

I only had about 50 miles on mine when i did the adjustment and spring and it was already starting to chirp on takeoff. Just ride it easy until you get it adjusted or aleast checked.

Nthewnd

I couldnt say. Ive never had my 650 serviced anywhere.
Ive bought some oil and a few other small things at Southaven Kawasaki and they seem like nice people, but other than that,I dont know.

Andy~G, I'm from down in Hattiesburg and might have to drive up to get you to adjust mine, too!! Actually, I had an '02 and an '03. The '02 was stolen about 3 months after I bought it and after insurance paid off, I bought an '03. I was actually buying an '02, but the dealer made a mistake and serviced up an '03 and sold it to me for the price of an '02. He said he made a mistake and if I would mind. I told him I didn't think so! I think I have too loose of a belt on my new one, too. On my old one, if I just gave it a little gas, the belt would engage, but on my new one, I have to give it more gas before it engages. Does that sound like a loose belt? I suppose I should make a trip to Home Depot to make the parts for the clutch tool and see if I can learn how myself. Another difference in the two year models is the different V-Twin sticker. It also has a sticker on the front showing it won the Popular Mechanics award. I chose not to peel it off because it's can brag for me so I don't have to. sdkinion, you get them from a Kawi dealer but i didnt need any for mine,I just removed one of the two that was already there..

RebelDS
I may have to start my own belt adjusting bussiness...lol

Yep sounds like a loose belt to me.
Those belts cost 100 bucks apeice so Id get it adjusted pretty quick. As long as you are in there, might as well throw in a black EPI spring too.
