Default More power for Lakota

I've got a '98 Lakota with Super Trapp exhaust and K&N filter (no jet kit) just wondering what else I can do to squeeze a few more horsepower out ?
Thanks for any advice.

The jet kit will do alot for that pipe and filter. If your low on cash, give me a hauler I have a jet kit I can sell ya. Also buy a 13T front sprocket from rockymountainatv.com $6.99

Hi Gaff, thanks for the reply. I'm going to get the 13 tooth sprocket from Rocky Mountain. I'm mostly going to be riding the Lakota in Utah at about 7500' elevation, bought the Lakota here in Las Vegas where I believe elevation to be about 1700'. I was thinking even with the K&N sucking more air I should probably go down at least one size (main jet) at that elevation, what do you think?

Gaff,

Good to see you on here, have not seen you post in awhile. How is the Lakota running for you now, have you been doing any racing lately?

garyvegas,
This is what I did before that worked for changing elevation alot. Well first get the jet kit, then keep the snorkle cap intacked under the hood, if still there. Ok, drill some holes in the intake and jet it for the 7000 or so feet you ride in. Then when you go back to 1500 feet or so put tape over the holes and it will richin it up without having to rejet. Hope that made sense.

Dirthead,
October 19th I raced in a Arenacross, sense then I have not raced nor road. Just weather, work and other things have kept me busy. I had a new child sense then too.

My Lakota has been running awsome. I worked out the details of running a mojave 34mm CVK on it using a clamp on, worked out realy nice.
We plan on getting back at it probably as soon as this week end, so I'll have to up date you later on that.
I've been reading but not realy posting for a while. But just hanging if you know what I mean.

Hey Gaff, thanks again for the info! I'd like to get the jet kit from you if the offer still holds. Money is a little tight right now with buying the kids Christmas stuff and all. I should have the money sometime right after the new year. Email me at garyvegas@aol.com to let me know what you need for it, appreciate your help.
Happy Holidays,
Gary

Does the 123t sprocket make that much difference, I put a supertrapp exhaust on it , haven`t had time to install the jet kit. Please reply to let me know what difference it makes. More power it makes the happier the kids are.

When I first got the 13T sprocket my first thoughts where, wow this is the rite sprocket. It lets you rev the gears out much better as well gives a good bit more pull in 4th and 5th gears.
