Try 5th notch and 132 fron and 136 rear. Turn pilots out to 3 total turns each (maybe a little more for rear one).

NYROC,
Do you like the needle on the 5th notch better than the 4th? Would the 5th notch make it leaner?

I think Nyroc is referring to DynoJet jets. If you want stick with Keihin (Kawi) jets, buy a #145. The machine comes stock with a 138 front &142 back. Put the 142 in the front and the new 145 in the rear. That will help your top end with the snorkel and exhaust mod. Your machine will still sputter in the cold; as Nyroc said, open the pilot screws to 3-3 1/2 turns for a richer idle circuit. The needles are non-adjustable. You can shim them higher with tiny washers, I think some Kawi techs are using pop-rivet backing washers 0.04" thick to shim the needles up. Hope this helps.

Horse, I currently have 142 front and 145 rear kawi jets. It might be a touch lean. I am going to go back to dynojets 132 front and 136 rear, unless someone convinces me to stick with kawi jets. The dynojet needles work much better than stock imo. They have 6 notches.

TRX450, 5th notch is richer than 4th. It made a big difference and runs better. I was on the 4th before I modified my exhaust. Since it was hot outside when I modded my exhaust I didn't really notice that I was lean. When it cooled of I noticed it was quite lean. It starts and runs very well in cold weather now. No more cold blooded.

Nyroc

Stick with the Kawi jets at 145r and 142fr your are about perfect. If you have any holes in your airbox close off half of them and see what happens. A good way to test your jets is to put new sparks in take the quad for a 1 mile run at 3/4 throttle. At the one mile mark turn off the quad by the kill switch but leave your throttle at 3/4 don't relax your thumb untill you have come to a full stop. When you are stopped take out the sparks and look at the color to see if you have a straw color to your electrodes and I think you will find they are pretty much dead on. If you go back to the DJ jets you will have a flater response to your take off I can almost bet on it. I think you will go back to the Kawi jets just my thoughts, have fun.

nyroc, have you ever thought about experiementing with the dyno jet "needle" and the stock main jets? I play with the jetting a lot on my Kodiak and I have the stock main and dyno needle in. It functions excellent but not sure about the gains yet as I have not had time to test it. But, it starts, idles, has excellent throttle response and runs smooth throughout. The plug looks good too.

Just an idea since you already have all the dyno needle and stock jets.
