650 Valve Adjustment
#1
I have 1100 miles on my 650 (2002), I'm getting a ticking noise from the top end of the motor. I'm wondering if it's a valve adjustment or possibly a cam chain. Seems to be louder once the motor heats up. Anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks

Ok, I give up.
But, if it were mine I would check the valve clearance before I even asked anybody what they thought.
The louder once the motor heats up sounds more like the chain. Nobody ever says theirs does this, maybe yours has a stuck tensioner?
The valve adjustment is technically a piece of cake, but physically quite hard to do. Someone suggested a dial indicator would make it easier. At least the small feelers would make it easier.
