Default Spring, snorkle & jet

Ok I'm loaded for bear. I have the dg snorkle and kawie #145 jet, the epi black spring, assorted shims, the special tool and the shop manual ready to go! A couple of question though. What is the laymen name for Molybdenum disulfide grease? Has anyone used this when doing the spring job? Also does anyone think I should use the #145 jet when doing the snorkle only. I have no plans on changing the exhaust in any way?

Thanks for any help, Mike

Moly-Disufide grease is used in CV Joints, to. Available at car parts stores everywhere. You won't believe the difference an afternoon of tweakin' will make!!!!!!! Good luck!

If you are not going to do your muffler there is no point in doing your jets. Your quad comes rich from factory on purpose by giving your Kawi more air you are leaning out your quad it will operate fine. If you are not sure but want to check it out for yourself do a spark plug test.

Thanks trx and alltoys for your response,

Idid the spring job today. It was fairly simple except I could not remove the belt without removing the drive pully. I thought I was screwed until I remembered I had the special puller from when I worked on my wife's prairie300. What I couldn't believe was, there was only three rollers instead of four!...yes I'm sure...no I didn't drop any. It had been that way since it was new a year ago. Has that happen to anyone? I put it all back together anyway and will order a roller tomorow. Oh yeah I took the 1.4 shim out and put in a .6. The snorkle job was straight forward and took no time at all. Didn't get a chance yet to ride it not even start it.. Too cold around here right now. I'll hold off on the #145 jet until I can read the plugs.

Thanks again for he advice
Mike

Mercerman.

Alltoys is better versed than I in these things, but I did have a significant improvement with jetting up to a 148 in the front and the 145 in the rear. I have the rad. hose snorkle (DG on the way - should be here this week) and a Twin Air filter. No other mods. The two improvements were one, it generally ran better, second, it ran significantly cooler. I ride mostly between 500' and 800' alt. When I ride in DE, it's only 100' or so alt.

Peace,

Good to see you are getting the pinkys a little dirty the black spring is a vast improvement if you do nothing else for modds it will be worth it. When you are ready to do the jets we are here to advise. Cold weather is fun to ride in, it is -32 here with a foot of snow and lovin it have fun.
