Default KFX 700 Horsepower !

http://bikenet.co.za/03/03_kaw-KFX700.html

Look at the bottom of the page. Rated Power output is 34.6 kw which translates to 46.4 horspower. Correct me if I'm wrong, but my prairie 650 has ~42 at the flywheel.

If all the above information is accurate then the 700 doesn't have much more than the 650. I would like to suspect that the information is wrong.

Anyone know?

Thanks.

650 is 41.1 at the rear wheel ( or so he said). the 700 is going to be de-toned. the 650 was, thats the why they have the black box and all those go-fast goodies. they de-tone them to meet goverment or CPSC standerds (can't remember wich). 700 and 650 could fly, just depends on how deep your pockets are. I thought ATV Magazine dynoed the 650 last year at 32 hp to the rear wheels?

The HP is only part of the equation. It is the TORQUE from this 700cc V-Twin that is going to make this thing Scoot. Combined with a trany that will put this motor into the meat of it's Torque curve from the hit of the throttle and you have a recipe for what should be one H*LL of a ride.

Just a point of interest:

The Service Manager at my local dealership attended a course dealing with the mechanical specifics of the KFX700 and was told by the Kawasaki Rep that it should make between 47 to 50 hp and 43 to 46 ft lbs of torque. He also had the opportunity to ride one, and said that it was Very Impressive.

I guess we will just have to sit back and wait, and let the V-Force 700 do the talking for itself.

If you've ever seen what a good exhaust system will do for a Raptor, then you can probably imagine what something like a Yoshi dual exhaust will be able to do for the 700. I can easily see another 12-15 rear wheel HP.

The potential is there but i do not expect more than 40 at the wheels. There will be lots of room to get the lost HP back. I am thinking of adding 1 to the stable. when i get one 1 am looking for a minumum of 70 hp and doing some clutch work, drop a few pounds and add some killer parts. I plan to make a raptor killer out of 1. I just do not expect the factory to do it for me.
