I just got the Kawasaki Good Times Protection Plan offer on my 2 week old KFX400.
They want $451/2 yrs, $528/3yrs, or a whooping $638/4yrs.
How many of the forums readers go for a extended warranty?
Can I get one other than Kawasaki?
Where have you gotten them from? dealer? manufacturer? other?
And, of course, how much?

i dont think im gettin mine, my grandpa has had really good outcomes when his 400 has a problem by complaining and whineing to the dealer! its worked almost every time! i busted the rear diff. cap off when i was changeing the oil. he went to get a replacement cap which was 15 or so bucks, complained...got it for free!

 

Never, saved thousands.

 

I got the 4 year on my P650 for $395. I've heard some people have gotten it as low as $325. I've never gotten one on a car, but as hard as these things are driven, and the cost of parts I figured it was just aonther insurance plan.

I opted to get a 3 year, never can tell, especially with all the new technology in this bike. I wonder if that would also cover the exhaust system, i notice my muffler is starting to flake in some places, that surprises me, since i picked up the machine in august. If it's not covered, i think i will replace it with a aftermarket once it wear out.

 

In Aug. of 2001 I paid $370.00 for the 48 month extended warranty. Got 1500 miles and nothing has gone wrong. except the belt thing. But I fixed it! Thanks to Nyroc.

 

I got the 3 yr. when i bought mine, they are now offering 4 yr at the time they didn't have it, there are always some for bid on e-bay, there's one on there now 4 yr for buy now at 475 but you can get it cheaper. I would do it again, mine has already payed off for a digital dash, mine cracked and was letting water in, also replaced the oringinal belt under warrenty, lots of electronic stuff to go out, brake control, servo that activates 4X4, dash, two heads, two cams,8valves, two carb's etc, see the point.......

 

Got the three year warranty when I purchased the 650 new and only paid $280.

I did hear before I bought it that some ignorant people have been getting stuck in 2x and while mashing on the gas they put it in 4x abd just tore the $h!t out of the front shafts and diff. I didn't want to deal with the bs if somebody I let use it did that on accident....or possibly if I did it by myself. You know that little ooops, Son of a.... insurance.
