You are dealing with a retail business. Everything in the retail business has markup.

 

.....some dealers go for too big of a markup on these warranties and it's obnoxious...

 

It is the retail price. But there are greedy dealers out there and I have seen it first hand. The reason why we are even bidding on the warranties now is because of dealers turning warranties into a bidding war and the public has first hand knowledge of this and uses it against the good dealers.

 

LOL the 'good dealers'? Which are those, the dealers that can sell warranties at a 3 point markup?

 

You obviously havent had a good experience with any dealership. It will always be and forever the preconceived notion that dealers are crooks.

 

Actually no, I'm happy with my local dealer, and i'm not a blind dealer basher which it seems like you're attempting to pawn me off as.... I just think that on this particular issue, some dealers are being really greedy. You sound like a blind dealer supporter....or a dealer...lol

 

and what do you folks think about one of my local dealers quoting me 6 hours of labor at $80/hr to install a winch on my p650???? LOLOL. He looked me in the eye and said the wiring was really really tough and the whole install was a bitch.

 

Now that situation is wrong and I would complain to the Owner of the store! How can one be greedy if they ask what a retail price is? Do you go into a grocery store and think they are greedy? No cause everyone needs to make a living like yourself! I am all for saving money but not at someones personal living expense.

 

You ever go to a car dealership and pay MSRP for the vehicle or the warranty? If you do, you're insane. Why would buying an ATV or ATV warranty be any different? It's all about getting the most for your money, which is the American way.
