Default looking at jetting figures?

I know this topic never gets old. I was looking at the jetting figures on Nyroc's page and was wondering, stock my Prairie has a 142r and 138f. I just put on a snorkel K&N and Hmf exhaust. HMF recommends a 145r and 142, front. But as I search previous post I see talk of people setting there carbs to rich. On Nyrocs page some people have in the low 130's. My question is this. Why go down on jetting sizes or is this the difference in the jets DJ and Keihn So do you think that a 145r ans 142f will be to rich? Also I am getting spitting from the carbs when cold. Should I play with needle or enlarge the pilot jets?
Thanks for all the input I know is going to follow
(forums and the people in them; ROCK)

Couga, I haven't had the opportunity to work on my carbs yet, but from what I have read on the forums and the information I have been given from Alltoys, your 145-142 jet configuration should be ok. You also have to take your elevation into consideration. As you probably know, the higher you go, the lower jet number you go. The spitting you are getting through your carbs can be cured by setting your mixture screws. Get your quad to operating temperature and starting with your front carb, turn the screw in until the idle begins to drop (it will run a little crappy). Back the screw out until the engine runs faster and keep going until it starts to run a little crappy again. Turn the screw back in between the two settings and repeat on the rear carb. Should make it run better.

Thanks for the mixture setting info Alltoys!!!!

Default looking at jetting figures?

Forgot to mention, a lot of guys have been having trouble with the DJ jets. I would stick with the keihin jets. I went to Kawasaki's website and found the part number for the Keihin jet. The part number for the #145 main jet is 92063-1017.

Couga21 - the jet numbers you see posted in the "130's" are Dyno Jet jet sizes. They don't correspond with stock jet sizes and can't be compared.
