cold blooded p650
#1
I just picked up my new p650 last week (what a mahine). There's not a doubt in my mind I made the right choice. Impatiently waiting for the UPS man to deliver my 27" mudlites though.
I do have a question for other p650 owners. First let me say I live in central MN, it's cold. When I first start the machine it does not want to stay running for the first few minutes, is this common?

Join the crowd. I have found that if you turn the choke on hit the throttle once and then don't touch it start it up and let it sit to warm up that it does stay running. others have different methods that is just what works for me.

Welcome Stolski.
I am from MN also. When I start it cold, I open the choke all the way and hit the starter. Don't be on the throttle too much or it won't start very easily. When it starts to sputter out on the choke, let it down slowly while applying some throttle. I normally have my idle set up a tad higher in the winter. Within a minute or so with no choke it will run fine with no throttle. My buddy always has trouble because he gives it too much throtttle. Just experiment with it. It will be easier to start the more hours you get on the machine also.
Hope this helps.
There is tons of info here on the 650. Keep up with the posts, use the search option and use NYROC's website. Very helpful.
