Default Certified Weight of a 650

I went down to the local flying J truck stop and had my 650 weighed on there certified scales:

650 prairie
2500 lb warn winch
holeshot atr's

Total weight: 640 pounds (lbs)

Thats sooooo much lighter than a polaris!

Oh and one more thing got my father in laws trailer weight:

12 foot side load trailer: 1060 pounds (lbs)
Double axles (Came stock with single axle. He put another one on)

That means he has gotta get it registered. (anything over 700 lbs has to be registered)

Grizzly tim:

I think the best way to describe my first impression of my 650 is (hope everyone can relate)
The feeling you get when you hear your first newborn child scream, or the feeling you get when you hook and land that monster of a fish you have been trying all season to catch, or the feeling you get when you smoke a polaris outta the hole and pass the honda that was out infront of you while throwing mud all over them.

Thats the first impression i got when i jumped on my 650 it was surely true love at first ride.
As for my atr's no regrets at all! They dig in on the sharp turns and they throw the mud at a push of the thumb.

As for the camo, I know now that i made the right choice for me and i will have this quad for a long long time.

Hope i didn't **** anyone off (polaris and honda riders, i have much respect for ya )

That is about what I estimated the weight to be with a full tank, all oils, and coolant. I estimated 650lbs. Thanks for taking the trouble to go to the truck stop, and check it out!

A lot of mag have weighed the 650, and they all came to 656lbs wet weight in stock form. There was also a guy on here that had similer stuff on his 650 and weighed it on a Nascar scale and weighed almost 720lbs. If you take the weight of your winch, plus the extra of your tires and fluid weight off, that would meen your stock dry weight would be around 550lbs. So I would say that scale wasn't very accurate.

The ATR's are roughly 20 lbs more per set than the stockers, my 2000lb Superwinch weighs 20 lbs with the cables, 4 quarts of oil for the engine, front diff and rear end - weighs? Antifreeze - weighs? Rear hitch - 3-4lbs. 604 lbs for the stock, dry machine. = 648 lbs plus the weight of the 4 quarts of oils, antifreeze and the gas in the tank. I don't think the scales were off by much.

Ge4x4:

I believe the scales were pretty close to being right on as novakaw650 stated. I don't know for sure but they told me they just had there scales recalebrated with in a month or so.

I know of another place i can get it weighed, it's at a salt plant that i have done work for. And i know there scales will be right on. ( They have a weight master check it frequently cuz they have so many trucks "18 wheelers" getting salt every day.) I will go done there, pull some strings and try to get it weighed asap. I am just curious to see exactly how much it does weigh. I really belive that the weight will be the same and if it is different it won't be by much.

Has anyone else had there p650 weighed on scales? Maybe some of you police officers out there might have some scales and could check it out, just so we will all know.(It would be greatly appreciated)

I would hate to put mine on the scales because the amount of snow and ice on it is probably more than the weight of the machine.

Sometime scales set to measure in many thousands of pounds aren't accurate down that low. Your best measurement would be to put a truck on the scales, weigh it, and then put the truck AND the ATV on the scales at the same time.

So lets take NovaKawi numbers. He says that with the ATR tires, hitch and winch(I belive the Warn 2500 weighs 25lbs for everything) his dry weight would be 648lbs. Then you add 4 quarts of oil at 1.8 lbs per quart, gas at 6.2lbs per gallon x 4.5 gal, then antifreeze at 8lbs per gallon at 1.5 gallons which equals to 47lbs. So add that to 648lbs your at 695lbs or 700lbs with the Warn 2500. So I would say 700lbs from 640lbs is a little off on the scales. So unless he took his 650 there with no fluid in it, it's hard to believe with all that he has on, he is 640lbs.
