a guy that i go riding with bought 26" dirt devil tires for his wheeler. the front tires are 26-10-12 and the rear tires are 26-12-12. anyway, the rear tires look almost like theyre low profile like a sports car tire and the front tires look normal. he has the same amount of air pressure in the tires.he asked me about them and i told him that i have no idea. anybody know anything about this? the front tires look like theyre actually taller than the rears.weird?

I cannot remember which forum I read about this on, but I have seen this issue discussed before. Apparently the person ended up having to go to 27" on the rear to have the tires be the same size. This was w/ the Dirt Devil XT's. If your friend's quad is 4 wheel drive, he will not want to run different sized tires (height) for long as I have read that it does bad things to the drive line. Best thing is to put the quad on level ground and measure the height from the ground to the top of each tire. They should be very close in overall height. Hope this helps.

have you heard this about any other tires besides the dirt devils? i have a prairie 650 and hate the stock tires on it and would like to get aftermarket tires but i dont want to run into the same problem he has. yes his wheeler is 4 wheel drive (honda rubicon) i would like to get either the mudlites or the bearclaws. any problem like this with those?

No. I have not heard of any problem w/ either the Mudlite, or the Bearclaw. In fact, I had been thinking about one of those two for my P650 as well. I think that I am going to go for the Mudlite, as the tread (on the 26") is deeper and I think it will do better in the mud and snow, while still being a good all around trail tire!

Will do. The place that is changing my tires just called and said they can't crack the beads. The tires are too soft and seem like they are glued to the rims. They said they can crack the metal ring on the inside of the tire to get them off but the stock tires will be wrecked. I told them to go ahead since I need the bearclaws on.
That's pretty bogus that you can't get the flimsy stock tires off that were put on at the factory w/o wrecking them. Anyone else had this happen?
