well of course i had to go look....... I've had my '03 praire for 6 weeks now, and i've got 446 miles, and 42 hours....10.6mph... Riding here varies a lot, sometimes i take tight woods trails where you can hit 5-10 at best. Sometimes i'm on open trails where I ride 120 miles in a day and stay around 35mph...

 

The Tiny Tach is the actual name brand. They have a website, I think they sell for $36 US. Kawasaki also lists the Tiny Tach in the Kawi Accessory catalog at your dealer, or at Buykawasaki.com.

The real question is how many hours/ miles people are getting out of their belts and adustments?

 

1400 miles, so far. 1 adjustment at 300 miles, installed black spring then. Almost a year's hard service. 26" tires, see my signature. I am happy!

 

I have 280 miles on mine and I had to adjust my belt at only 79 miles. Very disappointed to say the least but I fixed it and its fine so far. I would suspect it came a little on the loose side from the dealer to begin with.

 

Many including mine came out of adjustment from the factory. No big deal.

 

I think that the factory adjusts them on the loose side(or do they EVEN know how to adjust them?).

 

Well as an update, my prairie is 3 months old and I just looked, 84 hours and 1015 miles. Been doing some serious riding! Havent had a single problem with it aside from the grips are wearing down rather quickly. How many out there have high mileage?
