i got around 350miles on mine 58 hours. my grips wore alot to mostly becuase of my winter gloves, they really ate them things up

 

I only have about 800 miles and 126 hours on mine,

but I was at the shop chatting with the mechanic the other day, and he showed me one he had in for service, with 796 hrs and over 8,000 miles. I turned the key on and saw it myself. The guy was having rear end problems and the mechanic said he had never changed his rear diff fluid... lol

After hearing that I don't think I am going to change mine either. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

I think that the excessive grip wear that you mention could be do to the tighter grip you exert on them during takeoff. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] Mine are wore down already as well.

 

Congradulations Kawi650. Thats 8,824 miles! How has your quad stood up? What repairs have you had?

 

i have 35 hours and 260 miles. dealer serviced at 30 hours. i had to have my brakes adjusted (very spongy). belt has never been adjusted. works just fine. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] i have had to replace my front bumper due to being pulled out of some muck with a cable put a big ping in it (pre-winch days). the only other complaint i have is the camo is coming off the rear fender due to being scraped by a tree branch. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img] also upgraded to real tires and rims. i think an aftermarket exhaust is in order for my next mod. other than that, what a machine!!!

 

Well JSC it was doing great until yesterday LOL My dealer called and told me my rings were shot. ( I just posted a new thread on that) We had a rough start with it but all in all it was remarkable how it stood up. I had every issue one could have with the 650 from rear shock at 10 months, to parts of my front brakes were missing from factory, to over filled from factory to carb and rear axle issues to clutch issues. I even had a defective air box cover.

 

I have now 4038 Kil in only 149 hours.......The only things I have change is the belt and driven bushing twice, but the second bushing are in brass(oil-lite) I hope they will last longer ......

Kawi650, it sounds like you got the first one ever built! I'm glad you got the bugs out, and with 8,000 km., I guess rings can be expected to be worn. Are you going to bore it out? By the way, where is sunny Halifax N.S.? The only Halifax I've been to several times was usually far from sunny. My wife is from down near there and I've tried to convince her for more years than I can count that B.C. is God's country (but you blue nosers are stubborn). JUST KIDDING!
