I believe it is 506 lbs dry so it is approxiametly 100 lbs lighter then the P650. Later

dsmike,

glad to hear that someone is getting one of these that will do something with it. I think this bike is going to suprise a lot of "sports bikes. With the twin, there is some serious HP to be had.

We are doing some different things with clutching. Mike penland is trying one of the clutches off one of the p650 bikes that pulls with us. He is going to try it on the 700 he will be racing with.

Let me know if I can help you get it set up.

Sportquad.com is the Only place that has the KFX700 at 516lbs. Every other peice of literature has it at 506lbs dry. The potential is there for the taking. It has close to 50rwhp and 43ftlbs of Torque. The newest numbers on the top speed have it hitting up to 84mph.

If you get one and start modifying it, please be sure and let us know what you do and if it responds favorably. It will be interesting to see what you can do with it.

RPM I see you live in Wa. State also, where did you order your KFX700 from? I live in Puyallup and I'm thinking about getting one in April or May. Is the dealer you are using up to speed in the service department? I am apprehensive about buying one from my nearby dealer as the store is very new otherwise I need to go into Renton.

BushWacked

I am getting mine through Longview Motorsports. Most of the info that I have on the KFX700 I have gotten from their Service Manager. He has been attending different Informational and Traing courses on dealing with both the Technical and Service needs of both the KFX400 and 700. I have had great success with both the Dealership and their Service Department.

Longview is a ways away from Puyallup, but if you would like a phone #, PM me and I will give it to you. They ordered 8 of them, but are only expecting to get 2 or 3 of them on the first go around. As far as I know I am the only one that has put money down on one so far.

RPM, thanks for the info. Longview is really not to far away, probably just under two hours away. I will likely stay closer to home but it depends on the deal I get. I want to sell my '02 DRZ400S first so we'll see what happens. If I trade it in I'll get soaked since it only has about 38 miles on it.

That means with fuel and oil and such its going to way in at about 560lbs. Thats only 40lbs less than my stripped prairie. I think they could have done better weight wise. Ohwell i'll ride one and see if i like it. If not i'll get a 400.
