I can tell you exactly what Ron Greene's is jetting them at! 132F 138R. They are the ones that told me to set mine at that. I've had no need to change it.
I normally hate dealers, The ones in Delta are the worst ones on the planet!!! They will screw you in a heart beat as long as they can get some Money out of you. The guys at Ron Greene's don't seem that way. They are (I can't believe I'm saying this about a dealership) Helpful.

I just got off the phone with ron greene's and they told me to put a 130 front and a 135 rear
Altitude i will be rideing is 4300 ft to 8000 ft and once in a while 10000 feet.
Is this right??? Talked to some other people (not newgate) they said to run a 130 front and a 132 rear. But then again 650 freak said his is jetted at 132 front and 138 rear.
WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO JET MY RIDE AT ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!!!!!!
I would greatly appreicate it

I'm still running the stock setting whatever that is (155?). It runs pretty good up to about 8000' then it will sputter every now and then going up hills. I'm hoping the snorkel will lean it out a little but I haven't had it above 4000'ish since I put it in.
I'm scared to rejet myself and even more scared to have the local dealer (renegade) do it. I can't stand Richard Vesco, the guy is an absolute p rick.
How about a basic lesson for us jetting chanlanged folks?? When you say for example 130f 135 rear, are front and rear reffering to the carbs or are there 2 jets within each carb? Do I need to buy needles too, or what's up with that? Do you recomend buying a Dyno-jet kit, and how much are they? What is the difference between the Kawasaki sized and the dyno-jet sizes, and which are you guys using? Finally, there seems to be a lot of variation in what's the "right" setup, what would you recomend for a 4000'-9000' safe (not too lean) jetting? I'd rather jet for 4000' and be running rich at 9000' rather than the other way around.
Sorry for the dumb questions but the only jets I've messed with were on a Holley and you about change them blind-folded.

2003650: don't stress: Do want I did. I started out at 135F and 138R. I then went for a ride. At about 8000 Feet the gal stated caughing and you didn't want to ride behind me, because of the gas smell. I then changed the front jet to a 132. (It is really a 132.5) Now I get to about 9000 feet. Which is just fine unless I go camping. I then change to a 130F and 135R. Does it still caugh and spudder? Ya! but not until around 9,500-10,000. Could I go leaner? YA! However I paid $7,000 for it and I will not run it lean and burn it up. I do run a little rich, but I can live with it.
The best way to find out what jet you need is to go run it and slowly step down to the jet you need. Every bike will be a little different (not much, but enough). Good luck.

Ok guys thanks for the input. I am going to strawberry resivor on sat ice fishing. I think that is about 8000 feet. I guess i will do what everyone is suguesting and just start mixing and matching jet combinations till i find the right comb. Here is a real stupid question for every one (how hard is it to rejet a 2003 650 prairie with no experience?) I have a service manual and i think that will help but any sugustions will be appreciated greatly!!
Oh one last thing... i had the black spring put in and i can only hit 60 mph on hard packed level dirt road should it do more?? I jumped over to the polaris fourms and they are saying the 700 polaris will do anywhere from 65 -74 mile per hr. This is real suprising to me cuz i have already raced and beat one polaris 700 out in the desert (4,200 feet) Im not braging so don't anyone get the wrong idea im just stateing the facts.

Not trying to start a fight but there's no way a stock polaris 700 will hit 74 mph. Maybe down a ski slope or something. I rode one that a friend of mine has, its not plausable. The thing weighs almost 800 lbs wet.
I doubt they can hit 65. I will ask my buddie if I see him this weekend and let you know.

2003650:
When I rejet mine I like to take the tanny cover off. It lets me check out the belt and it makes it so much easier to get a screwdriver to the carbs. Just take the 4 bottem screws off the carb and remove the bowl, and there sits the jet. Unscrew it and screw in the new one. Easy.
P.S. DO NOT Strip the screws. Delta Sports was nice enough to do this for me and it was a half hour job the first time I did it on my own, just to get the stripped screws out. Ron Greene's was good enough to give me some new ones.

Nyroc,
I'll find out what needle and main settings are used. (I'll be out of town for a week some of the time riding the San Raphel swell) So I'll get back to you soon.
The idiot reference was due to my lack of mechanical skills.
I think I'm going to pay my 9yr old 20 bucks to install my black spring....
