Default Black Plastic broke today.

I just broke the black plastic today, I never even hit anything... it just cracked. I see what everyone is now talking about I never had this happen to me before. But I got 14000 km on this plastic, should I go out andd buy new ones, aftermarket or fix em with wire? what is everyone else doing?

Kawi650, I like the holes with tiny zip ties. It gives it that Frankenstein, tougher than boiled bat $hit look that is just plain cool!! Besides that, you can make up cool stories like "I hit a Grizzly bear doing 40 and this is all that happened".

If I were you I would patch until Kawi learns how to make a piece a plastic that will last. Sure wish some aftermarket Co. would make something that would last if Kawi countinues not to make changes.

Kawi 650 take a look at the post by Fru concerning black plastic trim and how many views its getting, I think it would do Kawi good to be mindfull of such a problem.

Got my prairie about a month ago and thought all the screws mounting the black plastic were too loose. I tightened them all and after about an hours ride, the plastic looked like it was bulging around the mounting screw heads. I loosened all the screws again and have had no problems. I think the hot set-up would be nylon lock nuts and the screws just tight enough to avoid vibration.

Has anyone found any aftermarket plastic yet? I know penland has the lime green plastic but that is around $700. I was looking for different cuts or all black plastic.
