new to this ,got alot of info before I bought my 650 form these forums so thanks for the help.
Having fornt end shakes and wobbles on my 650 with aftermarket tires,tried first 589 M/T's on my stock rims, then bought a set of Rad outlaws on itp dstyle wheels hoping to not have this problem because I heard that the Rads ride as well as stock. But put them on and like before get above 30 mph I get the wobbles[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img] both were 26 inch and the stock are good had them up to 60mph

Did they balance the new tires on the rims. I'm no expert but they might need balancing.

 

The rims and tires were mounted already and shipped to me.the main thing that gets me is it happened with to diffrent setups and was fine with the stock tires wonder if the taller and wider tires throws my front end out of whack and I need an adjustment?

 

The oversized tires are known for being grossly out of balance. Balancing them will help, or PJ1 tire balance liquid works well too. I used PJ1 in my junk Blackwaters with good results. Most of the companys that build these tires have little experience with tire uniformity at higher speeds. I build tires for a living (Michelins) and I firmly believe that if you want a good uniform ATV tire, you need to buy from a true tire company. Bridgestone, Dunlop, Goodyear, etc. If I wanted a tire that was good at the speeds the 650 is capable of cruising at, but still had some mudding ability, I'd get the Goodyear Mudrunners.

 

Thanks for the info called ATVNorth where I got the tires and rims from want me to check the "out of roundness" on the front wheels said maybe have a bad rim

 

I put 589's on mine and it has a wobble around 30 mph. I've heard that same problem from a lot of people, but at higher speeds, I don't notice it. It also jerks back and forth around 30. But the stock dunflops didn't do that.

 

A friend of mine put 27" 589's on his 650 and had the same problem.

Turns out one of the tires wasn't fully seated on the rim. We broke it down, then reinstalled it and he's had no problem since.

 

I got 28" 589 on mine and she's good up to 96 km/hour.

 

one problem I have is that there is a hole in my right front tire need to contact ATVnorth won't hold air so who knows what else is wrong with that tire, but wont get a replacment for 4 days so if I want to ride I have to put those awfull[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]stock tires back on and hope I don't get embarressed

 

Two things you guys need to do. Set your toe-in to 0 or 1/16 of an inch. That will cure the back-and-forth jerking motion. If your tires are out of balance, send them back and DEMAND that they give you a set that is balanced. When I put my 26" 589s on my 650, I had severe jerking through the handlebars. Took my front tires to a tire shop and they were so out of balance that the guy couldn't balance them. Got them replaced (free) and was good to go. My 650 doesn't vibrate at all now.
