Another P650 question?
In the yamaha forum someone wrote their review of the Prairie to the Grizzly and they state that when the belt light comes on after 100 hours of service the machine will only run at 3600 rpms. Now I know this happens when the belt is so loose or falling apart that it trips the sensor in the housing that causes the light to come on and only let the machine run at 3600 rpms but I was under the impression that the machine would still operate fine if the light only came on due to hitting the 100 hours since last belt service mark. Thanks for your help, Seth

Another P650 question?
Still waiting for the 100 hour light to come on and slow my 650 P down.
I'v got 236 hours and 1685 miles on it. Still waiting for the LIGHT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need to do the 100 service on it. How long does it usually take (in hours) for the 100 hour service light to come on ????????????????

Another P650 question?
This is only on the 03 it is a simple maintaince warning. NOTHING HAPPENS BUT THE LIGHT IS ON UNTIL IT IS RESET no rev limit 4x4 still works. It has no efect what soever other than the light and it is on solid not flashing. Is this all the Yamaha boys can come up with .

Another P650 question?
to all you guys wondering about that magic 100 hour mark, all I can tell you is what happened to my prairie when the light came on. About a week after I bought it the light came prematurely for some reason with only 8 hours on it. The motor started acting like it hit rev limiter. I took it to the shop where they pulled the tranny cover. The belt was in perfect adjustment and the belt sensor was in the "on" position where it is suppose to be according to the maintainence manual. The light simply malfunctioned, causing the motor rpm problem. I watched the mechanic pull it apart and saw it for myself. This leads me to believe that the rpm issue is directly tied into whether or not that light is on, not if the belt is out of adjustment consequently tripping the sensor on top of the tranny cover. Maybe I'm wrong or the mechancic was wrong, but I don't think so. If anyone else has this happen to them, please tell me, 'cause I'd like to know.
