Default Extended Warranty

I'm thinking about purchasing the 4 year extended warranty for my P650 and KFX700. I am a little concerned that if I spent much time tinkering with just about anything on the bike I might have trouble getting service when I need it.

I know nothing about changing/moding tires, clutch springs, belts, mufflers or anything else on these machines but would like to learn. I just don't want to purchase a warranty and then try to install a new black spring, tear the thing apart and not be able to get service on it when I can't get it back together again.

Should I just pay for the warranty and let the dealer install all my desired mods?

I would look for a dealer that has no problem with you experimenting a little with springs, jetting and other simple mods. I wouldn't think they would have a problem unless you brought the thing to them in pieces. Also, I don't think that they could refuse you warranty unless they could prove that something you did resulted in a failure.

I don't think that you will get over your head enough that someone on this forum couldn't help you get the bike back togeather again.

The only way to learn how to do things is to get your hands dirty, go for it!
