i drive a 1986 big red 250 trike and a 2001 fourtax 350 4x4 [rancher]. the only problem i have had [both bikes combined] is front and rear brake cables, 1 headlite bulb, and a couple of batteries, all on the trike. the rancher has 1400 miles on it and the trike has, i would guess anywhere from 15 to 20,000 miles.

mudslinging aside, I would suggest the rancher. if you can wait, the 04 rancher is a 400 with an auto tranny like that on the rincon. it looks to be a good upgrade to an already excellent machine. I have an 01 rancher with the electronic shift, and I am very happy. The power is good, top speed is 48-50, and its a lot of fun to ride. It does the chores, pushes the plow, pulls the 2 horse trailer around the yard, and it has been absolutely bulletproof. I have only had one problem one time with the electronic shift, and when i got off the quad and pulled it back a few inches, everything was fine and has been since. I would buy another rancher, 350 or the new 400, in the wink of an eye, without hesitation. good luck with your decision.

I have to disagree with Roadrash, I ride with guys that have Foreman 450's & I can definetly keep up with them, they are a bit faster though not much.. I also have ridden with a guy that has a rancher 350, & had no problem staying with him.. I have done 48 mph on mine, heck the supposed 400 class leader eiger will only do low 50's so what I'm loosing 4 mph, whooopie.. The features the 360 has well outweigh it's supposed top end draw backs.. Roadrash, tell your friend to make sure the belt is tight & get a red secondary spring, you might eat your words if he gets those small mods taken care of..
