Need Help on Tire Selection
My current riding style is mostly hunting on semi-cleared trails and gravel roads. I will really be getting into the Gumbo mud of the rice fields in the fall so I'm looking for a good mudder tire for my P-650. I would also like to get new wheels to mount the new tires on and keep my factory wheels and Dunflops. I have been looking mostly at 589's and the Black C-series of aluminum wheels. I'd like to go up to 27" also.
Any and all comments/suggestions are appreciated!!!

I really like the ITP 589 tire. I put some on my second 650 and love them. At first, I thought they were too heavy or rough riding for sport riding, but I was flying down trails and keeping up with a Z400, KFX400 and a 400EX. As far as toughness and gripping, they are very good for mud. I bought mine mainly for hunting and being able to get through mud and climb leaf covered hills. You might want a lighter tire, such as a Mud-Lite, but the 589's are doing great for me. They are somewhat heavy, but nothing for a 650 to turn. Those that were following me said I was leaving some long rooster tails. Just make sure whatever you get is 6 ply. If you are riding on a semi cleared trail, you don't want a root or limb sticking through the wall of a too thin tire.

I run with 28" 589's and the c-series wheel. Love them both. Those tires will chew through anything. They are a little rough for extended road running but I feel that they can't be beat in the trails and mud or snow. Two other guys I ride with run the 27" 589's on the stock wheels (no lift), both are very pleased as well. For our money there is no other option.
Just my 2 cents, for what it's worth.

I have 26" Mudlites on stock wheels and I really like them. I mostly used them on hard packed snow trail and deep powder stuff and they've performed well. Haven't had a chance to try them out in the mud yet but I'm sure they will work well. I find that they have awesome grip, but still offer a smooth ride. Here are a couple of pictures of my 26" Mudlites.

28 589 m/s are great and did not slow me down. On a gravel road you have to work a little more than my summer 25 going to be 26in muddrunners. You do not need new rims once you loose the dunflops you never will go back
