removing the spark arrestor?

Just so I understand this correctly.... some of you guys are removing the spark arestor (the inner perforated pipe) and some are not.
Those of you removing the spark arestor are cutting straight threw the end, and then cutting the other end out of the cap? This is noticibly louder?
Those that are leaving it in are cutting only the outside layer and then leaving the spark arrestor alone? This is not much louder than stock?
I would prefer to not add alot of noise, I snowplow quite a bit in the winter in my neigboorhood.

We cut around the endcap and then removed the tip with the silencer intact. We then removed the inside of the arrestor with a small chisel. The noise is noticeable louder for sure. However, I wonder how much gain you will get by leaving the arrestor in as this seems to be the point of greatest restriction.
