Default V-Force Mod Updates

I made some phone calls today and this is what I found out. DMC Alien Exhaust will be released to the public in 2-3 weeks they only have a little tooling left but they are impressed with the gains. K&N Does not have a filter out yet but someone on this board said it is the same as the 03 praire 650 in that case the part # is KA-6502. Dyno Jet said they will have a jet kit out soon they are just waiting to get another V-Fore to finish it. I asked them if we could use the kit from the praire 650 and they said (Do Not Use That Kit) it will reduce performance. Yoshimura has no idea when thier exhaust will be released. EPI has a Pro Kit available but it does not make sense to purchase that until we get a pipe and re-jet. Hope this helps

would'nt be better to just take off the air box cover instead of getting a snorkle the air box is so high on the v-fore you would'nt think it would get water in it as long as you don't get crazy.

Buying a clutch kit that was designed using the stock exhaust is not a good idea if you're going to add an aftermarket set of pipes.

"emrald-f" said on kawieriders he will be working on a modified air box, and a snorkel with even more performance than the 650 snorkel

Had a conversation with a guy at dial-a-jet today about air box mods.

He said the worst thing you can do is to take the lid off. It disrupts the
air flow / venturie effect in the carbs .....

Yes ... there is some restriction that can be reduced, and that will encrease
power...but taking the lid off is not the answer. It is directly on top of
the carbs on this bike.

You must have gotten a K&N for an 02 650. It has a different filter then the 03 650. I am using a Twin air for an 03 P650 and it works just fine.
