Default Twin Air Filter

I got my twin air filter today, I also bought the maintenance kit. All I got was the foam that goes around the filter element. Is this all that comes with the air filter? I called twin air and the lady said that was it. I thought I was buying a new air filter, not just the foam. Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, This is all I got also. What you have to do is get a dull knife (butter knife) and gently pry the plastic frame apart at the connections and then put in the new Twin Air foam in and snap it all together. After you do that mine fit better than stock. This is how my 2002 Prairie went together.

what exactly does this foam element do that the factory foam does not do? Do you use the factory filter and just put the twin air foam element around it?

Hey nyroc, what was the price for all the necessary parts on your conversion? I'm really not happy with how my twin air fits so I might just switch over to an 03 box. thanks

I don't have an exact, but it is up to $125 or so. I could have saved a few $$ by going to ronayers.com, but I needed a little ordering help since some parts aren't on ronayers website. My dealer has been very helpful. As soon as I am successful, I will post a list of P/N's.

Nyroc,

I got my '03 Twin-air filter from Rocky Mtn. ATV. Good prices and great shipping. I also bought the Uni-Filter 1" ports for my airbox but have not installed them yet. I'm taking baby steps on my modding to try and evaluate my performance from each.

Hey BTW, great website you have. It has helped me out tremendously!!!

Nyroc, 800-441-1177 is number where I ordered the air filter. I don't know if I got everything that I should. I'm going to call them today. I paid $100 for the maintenance kit and the filter, but I didn't get a filter, all I got was the foam cover, surely this is not what they are calling the filter.

If all you have is a foam thingy, about 1/2 thick or so, you may need to disassemble (gently) the stock filter to get the frame thingy out of it and put the twin air on it.

I called the place where I bought the twin air for the '03. The foam outer cover that goes around the main filter element is the twin air filter for the '03. Don't know if it will make any performance difference.
