Default 650 Mods

I'm in the military currently deployed (I'll let you guess where). I want to order some mods for my Prairie 650 now so that I can install them when I get back to the states. The following is what I have decided on so far. I would apreciate any input from those of you who may have already modified your 650.

Big Gun Pipe
Diamond G Snorkel
Hi Flow air filter (or K&N?)
Dyno Jet, jet's
ITP ATR Tires (or bear claws, maybe new rims?)
Clutch Kit

Living in AZ, I don't find much mude. Mostly I'm looking for adding some bottom end speed and improve handelling. Any advice? Was thinking about getting the High Lifter Performance pacage. Or would it be cheaper to buy each seperately?

Damn I miss my Prairie!
O yeah, I miss my girl too.

Dan,

Welcome to the forum, congrats on the first post.

Your list looks pretty complete. Might want to consider Keihin jets instead of the dynojets. I like my dynojet kit, gives strong bottom & mid but maybe lacks a little on the top. Also, you might want to consider a power module which gives you substantially more bottom end for around $100can. Other than that, the best way to make opinions on what to buy is to search through the forum and see what other guys are posting about. It becomes apparent quite quickly what guys like and don't like and that will give you the most honest review on many products.

Again, welcome. Be safe and thank you.

Steve

I'd put tires and rims at the top and wouldnt use a K&N filter, just because ive heard too much about dust getting in. Arizona is dusty right? The rest I dont know about.

Yes, thanks for serving! I just got back from a hot place in December and know just how you feel. What was worse was watching all the cops play around on quads in the ultimate of sand dunes, (Arctic cats in the desert...)while I had to lug around my 70 pounds of gear everywhere. Good luck.

I would probably go with the ATR's if I were you. I like my bearclaws, but I only got them because I run into some mud every now and then and needed something more aggressive. if you don't get the mud, the ATR's are the berry's.

PS. Thanks for serving our great country and putting your life on the line. Tell all of your fellow soldiers that we have our hat's (helmets) off to them!

If you go with the H/L kit, watch what you get for clutch springs. Most of their kits are designed around large, heavy tires.
You're doing a great job over there; despite what you may hear about Canada, 95% of us are behind you 100%!!!
