I'm sorry for that. Off topic.

02 vs 03 AIR FILTER (who cares about what tows the 650 to its hunting grounds)

I might be a little hard on the 03 filter. The twin air was about 1/2" taller than the cage, so installing it causes it to press against the top and bottom and it should seal. Also the twin air has a foam lip which is squeezed onto the filter bracket and should seal?

I've not seen a 03 Prarie airbox but have heard it's the same as the airbox on the V Force. Can anyone confirn this? I'd like to get a twin air filter and want to know if the 03 Prarie filter will fit the v Force. Thanks!

I sold my camera to pay to heat the house. I would take a picture if I still had it.

Nyroc, if times are tough up there, move on down to Mississippi and I'll be glad to let you do some work on my 650! I have an 03 airbox with a twin air filter and it seems to seal real good. I've removed the filter when I removed the airbox and everything inside seems to be spotless. And I agree, the Ford is the way to go.

I apologize for being off topic, but what I stated is a fact. LAST year(2002) GM outsold the F-series plain and simple. Let alone GM only counts the Silverado/Sierra series which is 1500, 1500HD, 2500, 2500HD, and 3500's. Ford count consists of F150, F250, F350SRW, F350DRW, F450, F550, F650, F750, etc........ This year (2003) is a different story, although Ford has many troubles with their new PSD, they have upped the bar on power across the board with their engines. I think Chevy screwed the pooch when they made the Silverado series into Avalanche styling. Their sales have dropped since.

I just had to get my point straightened out. Like Nyroc said, It really doesn't matter what hauls your 650.

on the 03 filter the metal cage squeases the bottom of the filter. So there is no leak there. It fits tight on top but i still use some grease around the top edge of the filter as a precaution. I have had my 03 for almost a year now and check it for leaks constantly. All has been good. No leaks.

Hey mtecate, since you have both a V Force and a 03 Prarie. Can you confirm that they have the same airbox? I want to get a twin air filter for the Vforce and need to know if a 03 Prarie twin air will fit the V Force. Thanks!

I'm kinda bummed out, I thought the 03 airbox was an improvement. I got a letter from Kawasaki for a recall on the airfilter. Haven't had time to take it back to the dealer. I was planning on getting an aftermarket one anyway, but don't know which one? NYROC I wish you lived closer, I could use a good mechanic. Maybe I could pay your light bill! LOL

INTHEWND

The only aftermarket air filter avaible for an 03 is a Twin Air.
I got mine from rockymountainatv.com
