V-Force Rear Hubs
#1
I purchased a set of HiPer Technology carbon fiber wheels and after four phone calls trying to get there part number for the conversion hub the list on their web sit, one of the salesmen told me to go out and buy a 4/110 hub for a Honda 400EX. Well assuming he knew what he was talking about I purchased a LSR Micro-Lite Rear Hub 4/110. The problem is that first the axel nut no longer fits so you can put the cotter pins back in and second when you mount the wheels the move the wheel base in over 2" to the point where it barely clears the muffler.
Does anyone out there have any suggestions on a hub that will fit a Kawasaki V-Force / Honda 400EX axel splin and offer the proper offset so that the wheel base is back or at least close to the standard wheel base? I’ve though about using 1-1/2” DuraBlue spacers but to me that’s not the proper way to fix the problem.
The Hiper Technology carbon fiber wheels are awesome and I really want to keep them; however, their tech support and salesman’s knowledge is much to be desired to say the least.

Ya I know but right now my V-force back end looks like a tractor puller's rear end and it's really ugly and I'm not a patient man when a company sells you their product and they don't have a clue what you need for it to work properly. When are you going to build a super charger for my 700? LOL

Just got a call from Mike Peland and there are not a whole lot of options at this time. For those of you who want to run the carbon fiber wheel will need to take your axel nut to the machine shop and have it ground down .125". As for the GNCC Mikes answer was to narrow up the front end so you can't through the trees faster, but then he remmebered who he was talking too and suggested adding either High Lifters 1" Sport Wide Tracs Billet Aluminum Wheel Spacers which brings the outside wheel base back to within 1/2". You could also use the 1 1/2" spacers and make the rear wheel base wider then the std wheel base.
Mike is also working on a clutch kit and is working with DG on a dual exhaust that will actually require you to jet up not down like some of the current pipes on the market for the 700. Anyway I feel better now that my delima is solved. Ride hard, Ride safe!
