Default custom air intake?

Has anyone made a custom air intake for there p650? I was looking at it today and I was thinking you could buy a 2-inch hose and move it behind the grill above the radiator for more air flow. I wouldn’t had to worry about mud because of I live in the middle of Nevada were we get around 2-inches or rain a year. Just a thought Thanks

If you do make one, you'll have to rig up that drain that comes on a Diamond G snorkel. I'm not sure how easy that would be.

Badprairie, I totally agree. I suggest you try a NAPA 7335 hose its about $12. Try it out first. You can always the spend $50 + on that overpriced snorkle if you don't like the hose.

However, I love my napa hose. Its not as fancy as the snorkle, but its probably at least 90% as effecitve. It does increase the airflow a lot.

Don't forget that $40 or $50 bucks you will save will buy a lot of beer!!

I'm going to make an addition to my diamond G snorkel that will go from the end of the snorkel out to and replace the peace of plastic that is on the front of the steering column. When I am through, I'm in hopes it looks like an air induction on a car, air scoop. This should give a ram air effect, with cool air, this wouldn't be any good for trail riding on dirty roads, but would be great for racing.

I made one for my 650 out of 2" PVC pipe. It was pretty easy considering you can buy all the elbows you need and then just cut them to get the proper angle. It works good and cost me about $12. The DiamondG snorkle up here in Canada costs about $100 by the time you pay duty, exchange and brokerage fees, so I'll take my $12 snorkle anyday!!!!

The hose is about the same bend as the stock snorkle I just cut off the end of it, it sits in the same place as is about the same length as the stock snorkle. However, I am going to get some univents, drill holes and put 5 of them in the removeable plasic piece that goes over the snorkle intake now.

Like Shotgun, I am going to try this to get more cool air into the system. I figured if I messed that plastic part up it only would cost a couple of bucks anyway.

Shotgun, please send me a pic of your set up when you get done .

just a quick ? about the diamond G should you put the little piece of rubber hose back on the drain pipe after removing the stock snorkel, or can you just leave the diamond G as is?
