Default MODS for KFX 400

Bosox07- I love my pipe!! The reason I think many people don't like it is because of the price tag that comes with it. It really woke my bike up and I have no complaints whatsoever about anything. It took me a while but I finally have it jetted right and it really pulls! One other thing I really like about it was the TEC inserts that Yoshi offers. I have the small insert for riding around my neighborhood, and when we go to the dunes, just take it out. Tell me, what elevation and what main jet are you currently running?? (also whether it is Mikuni or Dynojet jets) I see that you have the snorkle off and air box lid modified so I may be able to help with a little info. By the way mine used to pop also until I got it jetted correctly. Just let me know

Thanks bulldogz

I am at 5000 feet...I am debating on going on going with the 9 one inch wholes (current setup), lid off or the EMF cut out lid with the aluminum adapter to hold the outwear cover in place. Rider on another forum said his really picked-up when he went from the 9 wholes to the lid off...anyway.

The dealership owed me a jetting so after the pipes went on they stuck in a 142 mikuni main jet...only a couple of people have the Yosh pipes around here and they are running about 147.5 on the main...problem is they all say the K/N is on back order and are running the 9 holes, pipes and stock filter...I figure with the k/n, pro flo kit I should be getting more air and with the 142 mikuni main jet less gas...thus my problem with backfiring stems from being to lean...lower main jet size the less amount of fuel its letting in right (my first sport quad and pipes...can you tell)...anyway any insight or recommendations you can provide on the airbox and jetting would be greatly appreciated...thanks

Yes I think you should try a 150 main jet. That sounds about right to me and if it is still lean, try a 155. Good luck.
