Prarie 650 vs Suzuki Vinson
#1
I was just at my local dealer yesterday, I went down there to look at a Suzuki Vinson because that is what i was planning on buying. I asked the dealer about top speed, acceleration, handling and such. He told me that the Vinson was extremely slow, about as fast as a Honda Rubicon. Well that got me very dissapointed and he told me that i should go with a Prarie 650 if i wanted more speed. I knew the 650 was fast but i thought the Vinson was almost as fast. My only problem is that the 650 is 1000 more than the Vinson, i can get the manual vinson for 4999 and the 650 for 5999. I would like some input on prarie speed, reliability and your opinion on what i should get.

I was sopping for winson myself until I try the kawi 650 10 times mor confortable as fast a a sport quad better brakes handle as good as the winson. the only thing you have to take care of the belt often . go ahead and find a place you can try it you wont hesitate long !

I'd suggest the 650, I have one and am completely satisfied. I've rode other big bores and they leave me feeling unsatisfied. The just don't have the power that the 650 offers and it really does make that big of a difference even if you don't go fast everywhere. I just like the raw power down low the 650 offers, snappy throttle response is just awesome. The 650 also offers a very sporty ride, where as most other utilities feel like you're driving a school bus.
Ride them all and make your own call, buy what suits you. I wouldn't let an additional $1000 really sway your decision. If you let price affect you that much, you'll feel unsatisfied the whole time you have it. I originally was going to get a kodiak 450, then decided that why not get the biggest if I was gonna get one, so I decided on a grizzly 660. Then I got to looking and finally decided on purchasing the Prairie 650. I'm happy with my decision.

the prairie is definitely worth the $1,000 more. my buddy has the vinson and i am always slowing down to wait for him. you need to ride the prairie and than ride the vinson and your choice should be clear.

I agree with everyone else. When I bought my prairie, my buddy bought a Vinson. He wanted a manual shift. When both quads were stock, mine was faster. He saw that I put on 27" tires, so he had to get 28" Outlaws w/2" lift kit. I'll admit that his quad looks awesome when it is sitting still, but that is the only time I get to see it, because he is always behind me!
Ride both and make your own decision.

The top speed is pretty close on the 2 machines , my 650 will run around 65 - 68 and my buddies vinsion will run about 65 , the 650 just gets there a lot quicker , I have not seen a vinsion auto , but the 5 speed version is an extremely nice quad , way faster than a rubicon. I perfer my 650 but would not hesitate to by the vinsion 5 - speed , it is nice to see an atv with that kind of power and no belt to worry about.
