Mojave question need help
#1
I have a 1995 Mojave 250 for 3 years now and i haven't had to do anything to the chain as in tighten it or loosen it so i was wondering how do you tighten up a chain on a mojave. It is a little loose and needs tightened. I know it is a dumb question but could you please help me with it.

It's EASY!
There are two bolts on the end of the swingarm They hold the axle carrier in place. Near the bottom of the axle carrier is a small hole. In the tool kit that came with the bike is a small metal rod (if you don't have the kit anymore, you'll need to find one that will fit in the hole).
What you do is loosen the two bolts on the swingarm, place the metal rod in the hole and carefully push down. This will tighten the chain (lifting up will loosen it). Re-tighten the bolts and your done.
PIECE O' CAKE!
One other thing to be aware of, the chain might be stretched beyond adjustment. Since your bike is a '95 you might want to consider purchasing a new one. Krause Racing (Sidewinder) makes a really good line of chains at a decent price.

Excellent job Sprocket, but don't forget, most times if the chain is wore out, you should also replace your sprockets. In most cases they are fine, but I have an 87 Mojave with about 2 1/2" of slack in the chain, it's about time I replace both! heh heh heh
Also, I do believe the spec is 1" of slack in the chain, correct me if I'm wrong though.
