Default p650 rear shock question

busted the rear shock on my p650 and my local dealer told me that they CANT be rebuilt. they told me that some other guy came in with a busted shock while his was still under warranty and they called kawasaki and they said that you had to just get a new one. how true is this? i have priced a few places and all i have to say is "HIGHWAY ROBBERY" They are pretty proud of those babies!kawasaki said almost $800 and some other place (i think its used) said about $700 w/ shipping. of course, mine is no longer under warranty. imagine that!!

Any rebuilder that does motorcycle/quad shocks can rebuild your 650 shock. If we can get them rebuilt way up in Nova Scotia, I'm sure you can get them rebuilt wherever you are. The dealer's full of crap! (And has a nice new expensive shock to sell you).

Why in the heck is a rear shock that expensive????? You could buy a used kids wheeler for that price. Makes me sick....
