new belt or black spring or both???
#1
My belt used to squeel a bit at idle, but now it chirps on takeoff sometimes. Just the other day I got it stuck pretty bad in some gooey clay mud and it chirped the belt alot in reverse and low, and would barely spin the tires. That's when I pulled out the winch. Anyhow, what should I do? Get the black spring or new belt or both? Also should I clean the sheaves with something?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Do you have any shims in now ? If so take them out. If not you need a new belt. My bike was just doing the same thing without any shims with the black spring so I replaced the belt. problem solved.

Yeh, do exactly what andy G advised you to do.
Check your deflection, do the adjustment, and during the process of putting everything back together, swap out the original spring for the black spring from EPI. Total job, maybe 2hrs tops...

Thanks guys. I have the instructions and the spring tool made. Now I just have to purchase the spring from EPI.
