Default How do I keep my belt dry?

Does anybody have any ideas on how to keep the belt dry on a prairie 650? I went and played in the mud this weekend and out of eight machines I was the only one that had problems. On the good side mine went through more mud than any of the others.

Good Question.

I took the clutch cover off my 650 this weekend just to check the belt and noticed that I had a tiny bit of dryed mud in there. I dont do a lot of mud so Im wondering how it got in there.

Guys,

Make sure the clamps on the clutch air intake and exhaust are sealed tight and that the rubber connections are on tight and not damaged. If everything is sealed tight then you should be able to bury the bike almost to the seat without any problems.

Scotia650's right. If you didn't go in water over the seat the is likely leaking at the engine. I've already had to tighten my clamps. This is a good place to start.

Sooo, now I know what the other hose is -- the clutch exhaust. Where does it vent to? I am going to have to snorkel 4 things now. It will
be a pain to do. I have dried my belt out several times now. At least the carb intake is baffled and has the air cleaner box to keep out the water, but the clutch is more open to taking a slug of water, when you
hit a deep hole head first, then level out.

triumphdude,

The clutch exhaust vents across under the front part of the seat to the left side of the bike.

The dealer told me when I bought my 360 whenever I go through deep water or mud after I make it through stop the bike put it in Neutral and rev the motor for about a 30secs.....this will blow any water or whatever out the drain tube. That's what I've always down and have had no problems with mine at all...I took the 360 through a pond today LOL at times the water was over the front rack
