Prarie 360 running lean ?
#1
My 360 has been not idleing well for a few months.I figured it was cold weather and we probably all know how cold natured they can be. As the weather warmed up it does not get ant better. As a matter of fact , it might be getting worse.I checked the plug today and the very end of the plug where the spark is made is pretty white.Down toward where the threads start it is black.I am thinking it is running lean. It is completly stock. Should I consider rejetting or is there an adjustment on the carb. I can make? I notice there is a springloaded screw handle on the left side of the carb.
When I first start it I have to choke it, almost every time. Then you pretty much have to constantly play with the choke untill it gets good and warm and then it get better but it still doesn't act right. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.

During the winter or when it's cold I generally crank the idle up a bit until it warms up, & I always have to use the choke to get it started. The main jet doesn't have anything to do with how rich or lean it idles, I would think that in S. Carolina the stock jet would work just fine. If your having a tough time keeping it running while it's cold you might want to check your valves. I had a beach of a time trying to figure out why mine would keep dying before it completely warmed up, & come to find out my exhaust valve was way out of spec. After adjusting my valves it has ran great ever since
