Default Just bought '87 Tecate have ?'s

Just bought an '87 Tecate off Ebay and have some questions. I have owned countless Honda 250r's and I just sold my Cannondale with a long travel front end. This is my first Tecate and I need some input from you Tecate riders.
My questions are:
How do the Tecate's jump and handle compared to the Honda's?
What is the stock width?
Is the motor reliable?
What is the bolt pattern for the wheels?
Where is the best place to get parts?
Any other input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Judging from your pix Buddah, you are gonna have to spend some SERIOUS coin on your Tecate's suspension if you are gonna launch it like you have your other quads. I had an 87 for about 5 years and stock it is narrow and poorly suspended. I don't know who makes arms for them any more but shocks and axle will be easy to find. Stock, the thing has all kinds of engine, faster than a 250r but of course there are parts galore for Hondas and very few for the Kawasaki, sort of a "glass ceiling" Mine wasn't the most reliable but I know others who have had zero problems. Correct me if I am wrong Tecate experts but the bolt pattern is 4 x 156. The front might be different from the back now that I think about it. I miss mine, she was a blast to ride up at Silver Lake in Michigan when I lived back east. Klemm Research used to be a parts manufacturer / supplier; I don't know if they are still in biz or not. Other's will know more than me. -RT
