I have a 2002 KVF650 and the rear shock leaked the oil. It is a Showa shock and it look like it is rebuildable. Does any one know where to go about looking for the parts to rebuild it? Or where to find a replacement shock. I call the dealer and the price floored me. $1147.00CN for a shock from Kawasaki.
I though that they called them shocks because that is what they remove from the ride, not the state they put you in when you need one.

I took mine into my dealer who sent it to a shock rebuilder and revavled it for a heavier person than 150lbs, replaced the shaft with a 3 inch longer one recharged it for 400 CDN a good deal. Especially when they are 1200 new they are rebuildable and are a very good shock. If you are close a sled shop they also now where to have them rebuilt, try 4x4 auto shops also they do shock rebuilding. You have a few chooses to go with.
