Dry weight on a Predator is 415 lbs.....not all that heavy (about the same as a Raptor)

The no reverse thing does $uck a bit....I like the bike but I ride trails a lot and have come to depend on reverse.

Go with the Green its a very easy quad to master . Plus green sticks out more .
The first time you have to pick up the preditor to turn it around you would have wished you had the reverse .

My axle is fine and never had any probs with the frame , even tho the Z and KFX are the same I havent heard of
any KFX's with any of the Z probs.

I agree that reverse would be a nice feature on my Predator. However, if you bought a 400, the first time a Predator blew you away, you'd wish you had one. That doesn't even include the vastly superior handling and suspension.

The KFX/Z is a solid quad with great handling and good power when minimally modified. I have not encountered the axle (which I have been told they fixed early in production run) or the frame (fixed later). I have piped mine and the think is just a blast to ride. You really control it through corners, wheelies, practically every aspect is under your command. I would recommend the quad to anyone. Almost all magazine shoot-outs give it an edge over the other sports quads as it is an OVERALL solid package.

The predator has a strong power plant. I have seen couple go and they go well...but i wouldnt say they beat a stock raptor or KFX 700...same thing that allows them to beat the 400 stock allows those quads to beat it...CCs. Handling takes some getting used as it is very responsive and targeted at the track...have ran into people that have rode it a couple of times and they have washed their hands of it...also know people that stuck with it and once accustomed to it they love it...very responsive. Couple of quirks that i have seen first hand that i dont like with the quad however...
-- cant shift the quad when full throttle...friend got a response back from the dealer about the bike not shifting when full throttled and his dealer said their was no fix yet if there would be one...seems to be a design issue and deals with the oil pressure or something (dont know why or how...second hand info from his dealer)...he is not happy about it and been scanning several sites...also the ergonomics of the quad isnt well received...both of my riding buddies that have one referenced that the seat was extremely uncomfortable and they couldnt get a good feel on the quad. The other thing is the quad is really focused for the track...and this takes away a bit on the trails.

If you looking for a quad that is practically track ready then give it a good look...but i think for all around purpose with potential of establishing a sound track presense you should look at the z400 as well...take a few spins on the two from a couple different dealers and you will get a good feel of which one you want...the little bit of time testing them is well worth the investment and will provide you far more insight about what YOU like about the quads handling and the performance of the quads. Either or you will get a good quad...its a great time to be an atv enthusiast

I finally got to SIT on a Pred. over the weekend for the 1st time. I was surprised to find that I was not comfortable on it at all. Hard to describe, but it seems like the seat has an odd slope to it, and TO ME, it wasn't comfortable either. That's just me. I really like the Pred., but after sitting on it, I know it's not the quad for me. I have however sat on the Z/KFX a couple of times and felt good on them. I like the way the V-Force sits, too. Unfortunately, I have not ridden any of the above mentioned, but I like the way the other quads "felt" better than the Pred. JMO!!!

You have to remember that the predator was not designed for 100% comfort... But does handle like a caddy. The seat position will grow on you. Just give it some time.
