Don't get carried away bud, it was one race and kawasaki was the only factory effort there. Kawasaki is throwing alot of duckies at the big green rubberband machine to get it on the podium. Honda went out and threw a factory effort at Baja and won that. We'll see what happens to the privateer Vforce teams and that will be a better judge of things. Kawasaki has put alot of contingency dollars out there as well so I would think that some people will choose to race Vforces in the future. Either way it's a good win..

On the other hand, it's nice to see a Manufacturer standing behind it's product and supporting it instead of just taking your money and patting you on the A** on your way out the door. Kawi is to be commended.

Just because Duncan was given a KFX700 does not mean it is a factory effort. The Second place DS was from Bomb! The Honda winning Baja was pretty lucky the fast teams had major down time. A DS650 was 2 hours ahead when it got dark and they lost there lights!

Yes, the TBR Bomb was given some help from Bombardier (i.e. a fresh motor) but who previously raced
the chassis, dsride? Hmm. Just giving you a hard time E! The factory thing wasn't a factor. The 650 was thoroughly gone over, frame gusseted, cracks welded and all the go fast goodies one needs to complete a race like that. They indeed had support. I would like to add though that as one of the riders on that team we did exceptionally well 2ndATV without any failures including tires (no flats!) all while having no name or professional riders. Just a bunch of guys with a little race experiance between them. We held our own I'd say.
Congrats to the Duncan Guys though, those I've met are very cool and courteous (man that Eichner's fast!) that Kawasaki was awesome I must say. It held up like a tank and just kept goin' and the dual exhaust made that thing sound like a V-8! All we could have hoped for was a failure on their part, no luck. So all we could do was finish without incident and hold second place.
Well there's always next year!

DS Ride was correct, we had Bandits and Holeshots to use, 3 sets of bandits and 1 set of holeshots. They held up superb, with the size of the 650 though you need to be wary of getting too sideways. The Bomb loves to fold tires over as in practice I put a finger size hole in the sidewall. With the kevlar belting though, I made it back to camp and didn't realize it was flat. The Douglas wheels with OMF Beadlocks worked perfectly. Thanks to Daryl Smith Sand tires for setting up all the tires and removing all the burrs out of our used rims to keep the sharp edges from cutting the tires.
